Change Ambassadors

Describe the group in a single sentence!

A group that advocates for youth voice, are passionate about making positive change, tackling issues and barriers that young people may face within their local communities, nationally or politically.

Who is the group for?

All Young people, 18-25 years

When does it take place?

Wednesdays, every week 5.00-7.00pm. Varies between Contact Theatre, Online and 42nd Street.

How many people are in the group?

Up to 12 (currently 8)

What to expect from the group?  

You will work as part of team to create campaigns, activities, and tools to advocate for mental health. Have opportunities to influence through youth voice, events, training, research, public speaking, media. Evaluate 42nd street service delivery.

What else happens in the group?

Be a part of a peer support collective. Weekly opportunities newsletter. Shared social networks. Friendship. 42nd Street. Alumni status.

What do group members say about the group?

 ‘Being able to talk to like-minded people where we can have healthy discussions on pretty much anything has not only helped with my anxiety, but also enabled me to engage more with what I learn at university. I think CA's is the ideal place for people who have an interest in politics, social issues or just want to help people’ – CA 20 years old.

What are the routes in the group?

Use the Sign-Up button on this page. You'll then be invited for a Meet & Greet, usually online, where you can meet other YP in the group and staff. If you decide to join, you'll complete a group agreement and joining paperwork after the 3rd session.

If we end up with a waiting list, you'll be sent a monthly newsletter, via the Social Action Collective and can be contacted every 3 months to gauge ongoing interest and talk about opportunities if interested.

What have members gone on to do?

Work in schools as TA’s, local and national research opportunities, youth work training and qualifications, youth and community work volunteering, links to other groups within 42nd and externally.

A peer support group accessible whilst waiting for support

A peer support group with social, therapeutic and creative elements for young women aged 16-25. 

A space for LGBTQ+ young people to connect, share, have fun whilst improving mood and wellbeing

A peer support group for Care Leavers aged 16-25 with a focus on completing research into how mental health services could be improved.
