Support for Traumatic Events following the recent antisemitic Terror Attack

We are saddened by the antisemitic terror attack in Crumpsall at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation during Yom Kippur last week. Our thoughts and care are with all individuals affected, their families and the Jewish community. We recognise that all directly impacted and the wider Jewish community need our solidarity and will be feeling scared, angry and unsure right now.
This attack is made even more difficult within the wider national and international context, which can increase fear and uncertainty across many communities. So we want to take a moment to reaffirm that 42nd Street and The Horsfall will remain a space that welcomes all young people who need our support from diverse backgrounds, identities, and faiths. We recognise that young people’s mental health and personal difficulties can be made worse by the health, social, cultural and economic inequalities and inequities that young people might experience, and it is more important than ever that young people feel they can access services where young people feel listened to, valued, included, safe and unique.
We are in touch with community organisations and networks across GM as part of a coordinated response and will continue to be vigilant and monitor any emerging impacts on young people to ensure we can provide the support and responses that will most benefit them.
If you are impacted by recent events or are supporting someone who is, we have put together various resources, services and helplines below:
