Nature Connection

Please note this group is now full but you are welcome to join our Creative Collective.

Describe the group in a single sentence!

Relax and reconnect in nature!

Who's it for?

Young people aged 16-25 who want to spend time in nature, meet others and have space away from the day to day stresses.

(We will also have a Nature Connection Collective that you can be part of, where we offer one-off events/sessions and opportunities elsewhere (open to ages 13-25))

When does it take place?

These will be on Thursday afternoons (usually 3pm-6pm) although times may be adjusted according to the sunset time.

The group takes place in seasonal blocks at a time:

Spring- Root

Summer- Grow

Autumn- Harvest

Winter- Return

It is usually at Trafford Ecology Park and occasionally Castlefield Viaduct and we may also have one Day Trip/Residential around autumn time!

How many are in the group?

Usually up to 16 people.

What can I expect from the group?

Time in nature (solo and as a group), guided activities and sharing, campfire and snacks. Everything is optional, take what you need!

What do group members say about the group?

“This group has given me confidence to just be myself and be on my own”

“I feel motivated and want to appreciate nature more now. Before this I didn’t really spend any time in nature but now I’m like noticing things. Walking around without my headphones and just listening to the birds, I can just think.”

“This group has done so much to improve my mental health, it has changed my perspective and changed my life”

How can I get involved?

The next group is due to start in April 2024. You can use the Sign Up button on this page or e-mail safiya.elgindy@42ndstreet.org.uk for information or to be added to our mailing list for future events.

(We currently have a list of people interested and spaces are filled on a first come first served basis.)

What if I miss the start?

You'll be invited to join our Nature Connection collective which is a newsletter offering a range of opportunities within 42nd street and external (internships, research, events, socials etc)

What about after the group?

We hope the group will support you in finding other opportunities through friendships, skills and networks.

You will also be able to look at joining our other groups the following year.

What are our active ingredients?

Connection, permission, relaxation, belonging.
