Career Street is free, confidential 1-to-1 employment support for young people aged 16–25 in Manchester, Trafford and Salford.

If you are looking for paid work or want support to help stay in work and your mental health experiences add challenges to this, Career Street is here to help you with this journey.

We know that work can be a big step and that’s why our support is flexible and young-person-led designed around your needs.

What does Career Street support look like?

The flexible young person led 1:1 sessions take place with our Career Street worker. These sessions typically last around 50minutes but can be adjusted where needed. You can have as many sessions are you need there's not set limit. You can access this support in between jobs and after you start work to support the process.

The practical employment support is they to help you:
  • Explore and identify the right kind of work for you
  • With job searching applications and interviews
  • Prepare your job application and prep for interviews
  • around conversations with your employer about your mental health and accessibility needs
  • by attending three-way meetings with potential employers where that's helpful for you

When you start the support with your Career Street worker we aim to help you secure a job interview within a month while also helping you feel confident, ready and supported every step of the way.
